Software engineering and commoditization

There is a marked trend in the major frameworks and much industry discussion to consider software engineering (i.e. programming, development, software construction, etc.) as more a matter of sourcing and less a fundamental of enterprise IT.

In contrast, this author takes the view that software engineering will remain fundamental in IT-centric industries.
