I am announcing the Calavera project, a DevOps walking skeleton for education purposes.
This is the continuation of my previous post, A DevOps Simulation for Education. Since that post, I have built a Vagrant configuration and a simple associated Java servlet application. It's basically a "Hello World" or walking skeleton appliance for test-driven Java development, bundling together Java, Tomcat, Ant, and Junit in a working configuration with a sample Java app running out of the box on Tomcat, that you can modify and build.
I have created a GitHub project for this. More documentation is there. Get Github and you can download it and play with it; you'll need Virtualbox and Vagrant. This release is called the "Manos" subproject.
It ties into IT4IT but is not exactly a part of it. I am conceiving another project called InsanIT that brings it all together. See the GitHub wiki for further discussion.
